The village is one of the major ski resorts in the Portes du Soleil, but has managed to retain its architectural traditions. The buildings are all built in traditional chalet style, which has helped the town retained much of its original charm. Châtel has everything that you will need, including many lively bars, a host of ‘on and off’ mountain restaurants, two cinemas, an ice-skating rink and lots of wonderfully interesting shops.
